To get him ready for the Dawn Wall, Tommy Caldwell set an audacious goal of climbing the hardest routes in one day at The Monastery, Colorado. The Quickening 5.13c/d; Grand Ol Opry 5.14b; Third Millennium 5.14a and Dream Catch 5.13d
Visionary climber Tommy Caldwell climbs the crux hold of pitch 15, rated 5.14c. Tommy wrote " The crux holds on pitch 15 are some of the smallest and sharpest holds I have ever attempted to hold onto". The completion of pitch 15 was considered the last major hurdle to the eventual success of the seven year Dawn Wall dream project.
